Happy Fall Equinox and New Moon in Libra Week!
This is a great time to look at your year so far with gratitude, it's a time to say thanks for what you have. It's a time for new beginnings and to bring in more peace and harmony into your life. The thing is this is also a time when many feel confused, maybe the year hasn't brought as much "fruit" as you wished for, maybe you are feeling confused about your purpose? Recently many of my clients have had the same thing come up - purpose? "I feel like I am not really living my life", "It feels like I don't know my purpose", "Everyone else around me seems to know what they want", "I feel stuck and confused"... It's the current theme, people are waking up and feeling like something is missing in their life. Maybe it's the feeling like you are holding your breathe, waiting for that next promotion, that vacation, that day in the future that will make you happy. That day is just someday away, and you keep on chasing something? It's easy to get wrapped up in our busy lives, the stressful moments, that deadline at work, your children's happiness, finding your partner, that somehow we lose sense of purpose. We lose ourselves. The truth is, losing ourselves is not a bad thing, being in that moment when you feel like you are losing yourself means that you hear the whisper - you feel like there is more. With more, I don't mean to do something extreme like to quit your job, leave your partner, or do something other drastic, no it's finding purpose in the mundane. In everyday life. Somehow when we head for the darker times, when Fall has arrived and Winter is around the corner, we get in the fight-or-flight response. Don't stress my dear, these feelings are normal. It's part of the universal energy of this season. Tips on how you can move away from feeling like the darkness is coming and you are being screwed. Because truth is, you are not screwed. We are like a battery, we need time to go inwards. It's actually a time to embrace the darkness, maybe there is something with yourself you have been struggling with? Filling your life with things and events instead of looking at the real issues. It's a time to be still, to read, journal, contemplate and for extra naps. If something in your life is not working, why is it not working? Are you blaming it on someone? Part 1 I want you to make three lists:
List number 1 - Write down 5 things you are grateful for in your life today (I promise you, you can find 5 things). Now I want you to look at this list, look at the things you are grateful for, smile, take a deep breath, and exhale.
List number 2 - Write down 5 things in your life that are not working at the moment, or maybe things you want to change, where you feel stuck. Then look at this list, feel the irritation in your belly, maybe sigh - and then look at these things and see if you can find a thread, maybe there is something you are missing here. maybe the problem is actually something deeper in you, dissatisfaction.
Go back to list number 1 and take a deep breath again and smile
List number 3 - I want you to write a list of things you have acknowledged this year. it can be small things as well, maybe friends you made, projects at work, moments with your kids...
